| My fellow Americans: We are a country in debt and in decline — not terminal, not irreversible, but in decline. Our political system seems incapable of producing long-range answers to big problems or big opportunities. We are the ones who need a better-functioning democracy — more than the Iraqis and Afghans. We are the ones in need of nation-building. It is our political system that is not working.

| Today is another great day in living the working American dream. I really am grateful, but tired all the time. My days are blurring together. oohhh yeaaahh!! The all American dream... what more is there to say?
Going to church on a weekly basis has been making my days better. As well as not drinking.
Most days the thought of the 2012 apocalypse has been all over tv, and seeping into my brain. Some days it is all I think about. I'm not sure what to believe. There are signs of Earth dying. 5,000 wild creatures die every year. Coral in the water has been turning white before it dies, and also coral reef gives off an invisible chemical trying to cool down the ocean by forming rain. All the plastic water bottles we burn releases chemicals into the atmosphere. All the millions of cars we carelessly drive. The forests that are being destroyed in Africa and Brazil. It is difficult for one person to make a difference, but if the government took action instead of drinking, hoarding their millions, and acting scandalous something would get done.
Only in America does the government drink. Only in America will pizza arrive at your door faster than firetrucks and the ambulance. Only in America we act like hypocrites. Only in America do we let go of every day morals and good judgment. Only in America do we speed up at yellow traffic lights and let five more cars run red lights. Only in this country do we need to press #'s for a language. Only in this country do we send sick people to the back of the store for medication, and smokers to the front of the store for cigarettes.
Are we the most scandalous, secretive country? This land is built and made for secrets. The free Masons, The pentagon, Families behind closed doors, tv shows and movies teaching young kids to gossip, ordinary people, people in suits, lawyers, government, our community.

| I went to church this past sunday, and it revived me. Before I decided to go I was unsure if I had a connection with God, and if he can hear my prayers in my head I told him to please find a some way to talk to me. I always knew in my heart that God is not suppose to be a human figure, but my emotions. Each time I asked god to find a way to communicate with me I kept feeling urges to attend church. This past Sunday when I went, it was as though the pastor was speaking all the ideas I was thinking, and God was speaking through him.
I've always had a choice to attend church as a child, and unfortunately I chose not to. Now it feels as though there is a void in me, and I feel confused about which church to attend, and devote myself to.
I feel I along with this modern age group of people that I have sinned by not having absolute faith, and questioning it. Why is it that in the 1900's a huge percentage of people regularly attended church, and now it's as though we are being tempted and corrupted with partying, drinking, wearing minimal clothing, being lazy, and letting technology make us even lazier? It seems the greater force of talking with the Lord every week in church is losing out to evil temptations we give into from the thoughts in our head. Lets face it we make these decisions to loose control, but we would like to think that because we feel numb, lonely, scared that we are alone in this world we are convincing ourselves that other people have pushed us into the ugly binge drinking, depression feeling sorry for ourselves state of mind.

| I am sooo tired of waking up to go to work come home eat, clean, watch tv, and sleep only to get up and start my day all over again... I'm not living from each pay check to pay check, but I'm barely making it. It's all about the damn routine in life. I've always heard it's good to stay in a routine, for staying out of trouble that is. It has pushed me into a work slump though. I can't even enjoy myself when I am not working.
What's the point of getting a paycheck after taxes? Then at the end of the year I get taxed and charged for doing my taxes. I heard there is something in the sixth amendment that gives Americans the right to not have to pay taxes, but if we don't the government comes around to hassle or worse. Paying taxes though makes me feel like a good citizen. Paying for roads to be fixed, roads to be plowed, pay the police with our taxes, the governors wife to receive treatment for her cancer, supporting troops in the war. The government has found away to take joy right out of my life some days. I can pay for more things with my taxes then I can with each pay check at the end of the week.
Do you remember the saying another day another dollar? Well.... more like another day another taxed dollar. If I see change on the ground I'm not afraid to pick it up.
With all this taxation, backs aching, feet throbbing, bills to pay, groceries to buy, dishes to clean, laundry to clean and fold, floors to be vacuumed, bed sheets to be washed and made up, who has the time to do anything they enjoy in life? Who has the time to figure out if they look good with contacts or glasses? Pink low cut shirts, or mini skirts? Not me anymore. I'd rather put my time and effort into education myself, and others, going to school for decent pay, and maybe finding a way some day to stick it to the man as jack black would say..
I'm through spending my money on party clothes, and drinking to impress and forget troubles. I'm done giving my hard earned money to the conglomerates of consumerism. How many people can name 10 different brands of cars, or clothing, or types of food, and can still name 10 types of trees? or leaves? or types of moons and stars? Well some peoples argument is I won't need to remember those things for later on in life, well you sure as hell won't get anywhere knowing the brands of corporate consumerism.
Planet Earth has been giving and giving and giving her resources, and we continue to take and take and take until she is dryer than a rye sandwich. What do we have to give to her? How many times have we all been guilty of buying something for ourselves, and how many times have we gone out of our way to plant trees, flowers, bushes, plants, food to possibly donate? I'll say I've been able to donate four trash bag sizes full of clothing, shoes, and household items, and I'm working on number five. I have been donating half of my sandwiches to those in need on the street, and left a box of food on the curb for someone to pick up.

| Since I have last written...
My bike along with my boyfriends have been stolen. It irritates me how inconsiderate young kids are with no sense of respect. Get a job, and save up to buy whatever it is you want like the rest of the working world.
I saw tragically hip perform, and it was great! Thousands of people, and free water!! haha
None of my bills are getting cheaper, and the west coast is looking good these days for cheap rent, but my step dad is convincing me other wise to stay in Vermont.
Summer has been a drag... It hasn't been sunny for more than two days except for the beginning of this week.
Starting another class this fall. It will be nice to get back into school.
